Kitchen progress

Sunday we had a great time at church and then stopped at Aldi for some groceries. Billy struck up a conversation with an older gentleman about cranberries (they were on sale for $0.15 per bag) and ended up telling him the joke and witnessing to him. At first it sounded like he was on the same page, but as they talked a little more, it became clear that he was trusting his water baptism to be saved. He was a Church of Christ fellow. Billy ran through many verses with him on salvation and baptism and it seemed to be getting through. They exchanged phone numbers and Billy have him some websites he has found helpful. After a few more stops we headed ‘home’. In the morning we started getting things moved out of the area for the kitchen in the bus. We got things measured and a few items prepped. Then a friend stopped by and invited us to their place for a meal. After lunch and visiting we had a great time singing hymns around the piano.

Tuesday we were able to make great progress on the kitchen and do a few loads of laundry. We still have a long way to go as nothing is hooked up yet, but it is a great start!

We have enjoyed going for a nice walk on most days. It’s a lot easier to do here where it is so much warmer than WI!

We have only seen one alligator here so far (see picture below). We have seen lots of birds from a bald eagle to robins. Sandhill cranes, mocking birds, cormorants, a heron, wild turkeys and a lot of birds I don’t know the names of.

Oh, and one bear! But he was only a statue, so I don’t think he counts.
